Cape Fear region people serving in the military

Air Force Reserve Airman Alexander C. Hubbard, son of John Hubbard of Eastover and Nami Hubbard of Hope Mills, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2011 graduate of Cape Fear High School.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Justin M. Hunt, son of Tracy Hunt of Shannon, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2005 graduate of St. Pauls High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Jamere D. Todd, son of Cathrine Edwards of Fayetteville, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2008 graduate of Douglas Byrd High School.

Air Force Airman Jonathan D. Brown, son of Tyra Coleman of Hope Mills, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2011 graduate of South View High School in Hope Mills.

Air Force Airman Philip E. Gibbs, son of Andrea and Edmund Gibbs of Fayetteville, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2008 graduate of Westover High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Jhareus D. Erwin-Stubbs, son of Letecia A. Whitaker of Aberdeen, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Corps Pvt. Adam J. Hoover, brother of Army Sgt. Tyler Hoover of Fayetteville, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C

Marine Corps Pvt. Jacob D. Melvin, son of Mary E. Rackley of Broadway and Phillip H. Melvin of Lillington, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Corps Pfc. Chandler D. Mitchell, son of Charlotte S. and Jerry D. Mitchell of Lake Waccamaw, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
